The second day of the course is the practical portion, come prepared for outside elements.

The S-100 Basic Fire Suppression and Safety course provides a comprehensive introduction to wildfire suppression techniques and prepares trainees to safely and effectively work on a wildfire. The course includes entrapment avoidance training, covering the fuel, weather, and topographic conditions that contribute to entrapment situations, the human factors that increase risk, and the steps to take if trapped — including tactical withdrawal procedures.

Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled class time and bring the following to class:
  • Valid Government issued ID
  • Writing utensil and paper
  • Water Bottle, lunch and snacks
  • Hard hat 
  • Ear protection
